How it works · CFA® Program Level III

Know what to study. Practise it. See where the marks go.

PassTheFinal follows one routine for every reading: prioritise, understand, practise, then use your results to decide what to revisit. Marking by a CFA® charterholder shows where your written answers gain and lose marks.

  • Concise notes instead of video lectures
  • Practice built into every reading, not left for the end
  • Written answers marked by a CFA® charterholder
The study loop

Four steps, in the same order, for every reading.

The routine stays the same from the first reading to the last, so your time goes on the material, not on deciding what to do next.

01

Prioritise

Each reading opens with a Priority Map that ranks its topics as Core, Applied, Context or Reference. You see what to master first and where your hours should go, while still covering the whole reading.

WHAT YOU GET
  • A Priority Map at the start of every reading
  • Four clear tiers, from ideas to apply under exam conditions to detail worth recognising
02

Understand

Concise notes turn each reading into decision frameworks, visual explanations and memory aids. Common mistakes are flagged where they happen, so you learn the idea and the trap together.

WHAT YOU GET
  • One concise set of notes per reading
  • Decision frameworks, formula sheets and memory aids
03

Practise

Questions follow every section, while the material is fresh. You answer item sets and constructed-response questions, then compare your written answers with model answers.

WHAT YOU GET
  • Item sets and constructed-response questions
  • Explanations of why each wrong answer is wrong
04

Master

Your results show which topics need another pass. Full-length mock exams then test the whole curriculum under exam timing, and the loop starts again wherever marks were lost.

WHAT YOU GET
  • Results broken down by topic
  • Mock exams timed to the exam format, with optional marking

Priority levels are PassTheFinal's editorial judgement, based on the published curriculum and exam format. They are not provided or endorsed by CFA Institute.

How marking works

See where your written answers lose marks.

Model answers show what a good response looks like. They don't show what your own answer missed. With Mock Grading and the Complete Programme, a CFA® charterholder marks your mock exam answers and tells you.

  1. Start with your last attempt

If you have sat Level III before, we begin with a review of your previous result, topic by topic, so your preparation targets your weakest areas.

  2. Sit the mock under exam timing

Answer a full-length mock as you would on the day, then submit your written answers for marking.

  3. Get written feedback

Each answer is marked, with notes on what earned marks, what was missing and what to change next time.

  4. See the pattern across mocks

Every lost mark is recorded by reason. Over three mocks you see why you lose marks, not just how many, and where to spend the final weeks.

How your preparation runs, start to finish.

  1. See the feedback first

Answer one constructed-response question set and have it marked, free. No payment details needed.

    OPTIONAL
  2. Choose your support

Study independently, add marking or work with a mentor. The Complete Programme starts with a 20-minute call.

  3. Get your starting point

Self-Study begins with the Priority Maps. Mock Grading and the Complete Programme begin with a review of your previous result.

  4. Work reading by reading

Follow the study loop. On the Complete Programme, a personal study plan and live sessions keep you on schedule.

  5. Rehearse and refine

Sit full-length mocks under exam timing. Your results, and marking if your plan includes it, decide where the final weeks go.

  6. Exam day

Go in having rehearsed the timing and worked on the answers that cost you marks.

FAQ

Questions about the method

More questions

We recommend it, because each step prepares the next: the Priority Map tells you where to focus, the notes give you the ideas, and the questions show whether you can apply them. If you already know a topic well, start with the questions and let your results tell you whether to go back to the notes.

See the feedback first

Try the method on one question set.

Answer one constructed-response question set and a CFA® charterholder will mark it, with short written feedback on what earned marks and what lost them. No payment details needed.
